How To be Saved

All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)

Have you ever told a lie? Even stolen anything (no matter the value)? Have you ever felt like you hated someone? Have you desired something that belonged to another person? Have you ever had sex outside of marriage? If you have done any of these things,ever...even just once (and this list is just an example), God considers you a sinner. He says all have sinned, every single person that ever lived on the planet (except Jesus). The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23) God says the debt you owe HIM for your sin is death. He created you and gave you life. God is Holy and cannot tolerate sin. The death God says will happen to you if you reject HIM is spiritual death, and after you physically die, your spirit will live in HELL forever. You will be eternally separated from God, your Creator, who longs to have a relationship with you. But God showed his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) God sent Jesus Christ (God in the flesh) to come and let us know how we should live and be saved from eternal damnation. For as by one man's disobedience many made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. (Romans 5:19) Jesus said, if you love me, you will keep my commandments. (John 14:15) If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9) You must confess your belief in Jesus to others and truly believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:10) Jesus said if you confess Me before men, I will confess you before my Father in Heaven. If you deny Me before men, I will deny you before my Father in Heaven. (Matthew 10:32-33)

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)

When you realize you are a sinner, in need of forgiveness, call on God! He will give you a spirit of repentance that will make you truly sorry for the sins you have done. Pray that God will forgive you of your sins in Jesus name. This is just the beginning of your journey. Now you should begin to read God's Holy Word every day. This is God's way of communicating with you. He wants you to get to know HIM, and this is one of the best ways to do that. Prayer is another and very necessary part of communicating with God. Prayer is simply conversation between you and God. When you start communicating with God, you will be amazed at ways HE will answer you. You must resist the devil and he will flee from you. (James 4:7). Whenever you sin after being saved (and we all will until the day we die), be quick to ask forgiveness and TRY TO SIN NO MORE. (John 8:11).

Study the Bible (both old & new testaments), the New Testament is the new covenant God made but we need to study the old testament as well. Find a good Bible believing church, and make Christian friends. You will need the support. Don't think your life will be easier when you come to Jesus, you will be spiritually attacked, but you will find happiness you never knew existed.
